My 'Bartzella' stories goes like this:

Not last fall, but the fall before, I was at a local garden center, one of my favorites. They were having a 50% off sale. I was walking by all of their 1 gallon perennials, and I see the unmistakable leaves of a Peony...on closer inspection I see the tag on the container, ITOH Peony 'Bartzella.' I squeaked. I asked the owners son how much the peonies were, $9.99, and 50% off of that, so they would be roughly $5 each. There were 3 left...so I grabbed all three. So I ended up with 3-1 gallon sized ITOH 'Bartzella' for under $20! They didn't do much last year but grow...which is to be expected. This year, holy bajeepers. I am trying to find the pics I took of the whole shrub, all 3 of them, and can't seem to find them. On average, each clump at a complete 2 years in the ground, had about 20-25 flowers, each. I can only imagine what 'Bartzella' will look like in a few years!
