Pughbear7 wrote: Good morning everyone: I managed to get a lot done yesterday even though it did not look that way. I got my 1 flat of cuttings stuck, 24 little bulblets of Ixiora and a dutch iris (yellow). I have 12 more dutch iris bulblets to plant, they are a dark purple called Purple Sensation. we got them at ace hardware for 3 bucks a pkg. I also got some crepe myrtle seeds I managed to get to sprout. I am hopeing for a low grower out of the mix. it looks like there are a few good candidates but we will see how they do through the winter. I also got my 5 mums and 1 new aster in the ground. I am so glad to have the workers gone from out front. there was no way I was going to plant the mums and have them trampled. lets see oh yea I got a few odds and ends planted also. Japanese blood grass a moss verbenea, black mouldry and a few volunteer echinacea's. I finally said enough and pulled the golden rod and another volumteer plant out of the corner in back. I listed my Odds and ends with a wholsale group so hopefully I will sell them rather than have to carry them through the winter. I know they are priced correctly as they are selling quite well (3 orders) and its only been 1 day. My niece put the bags of granet in back by ny problem area so I will be spreading it out a bit later this am..I am also going to get the ground cloth in over the muddy mess. I am planning on doing gravel path's so I don't have any grass to fight with. also I won't have to decide weather or not to kill it. Does anyone else fight with the rolley pollies? it seems no matter what I do they always come back. personally I wouldn't mind them but when I ship stuff out I have to make sure they are all gone. I am putting down some spectracide to take care of grub's flea's, millapeads and the rolley pollies. I guess my question is do they ever go away? I had a momma wolf spider scurry away from me the otherday when I was doing some rearrangeing. she had a huge behind and then I saw it move which i determined that it was all the little baby spiders. most of the time I don't mind the spiders its just when you go to pick up a pot and you see the little thing go scurrying for cover. Have a great day everyone oh yea this is lucky just hanging out Dave |
