Took the advise and laid a thick layer of Petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the small chain the feeder is hanging from. The day after I saw no ants anymore at all! Before they were all over the arbor on their way to the feeder. I decided to put it just on the chain, since I want to paint the arbor next season. Yesterday I still saw my little guy. It is getting chillier now, they must be leaving soon.
