Jessamine79 wrote: Hi everyone, I'm completely new but fingers crossed my garden prospers and I have much to contribute into the future! :) I had some Heavenly Blue seeds left over I bought last year (I put the ones I grew last year outside too early with no protection and they were eaten by local wildlife overnight :( ) and three sprouted. Out of that three one put out variegated leaves that were mostly white as it's first seed leaves. The other two have normal coloured leaves. Strangely enough this one with the mostly white leaves seems to be the strongest of the three. I have been leaving them outside as much as possible to stop them getting too leggy inside on my kitchen window and left them outside overnight where they caught a slight frost. They went a little floppy but bounced back with warmth and water, the white one seemed least effected and bounced back first. Has anyone else seen seedlings like this? I've attached a pic :) It's first proper leaf appears to be normal so far. As a side note I'm going to be growing Scarlett O'Hara (or whatever they turn out to be - they are just little seedlings right now), Chocolate (which I just ordered) and maybe Reiko if they sprout, I had Ushio left over from last year and none sprouted :( This message was edited Sep 20, 2010 6:52 PM |
