I bought several varieties of helliconia last summer when I was passing through Savannah, assuming they would survive winter with heavy mulching. I think it was Core who advised me that they aren't cold hardy, even down his way. I will be digging them up before a hard freeze. I have no idea where I'm going to overwinter them, since my cats ripped through the plastic covering on my temporary greenhouse. Just hope I have room to put up a xmas tree this year.
