I doubt you damaged the pupa if the chrysalis was hardened unless it was dropped to the floor. They basically turn to liquid inside and the bf dna takes over. If it was not viable it wouldn't cause it to fall I don't think.
Usually when one has been parasitized it will begin turning dark a day or two later and appear sunken.

So Mrs_ED...do you think it was pesticide on the new parsley?
