Linth, the converter is a Tamron 1.4 AF...auto focus works fine...I think what my problem that day was all the mud and moss in the marsh and the lens would not settle on the birds...I have some pretty nice shots with the converter from other time's but there was no debris to pull focus away. Here's a shot of a Tiger Swallowtail from the same day it was about 15 feet away...cropped of course. The converter speed to focus for flight shots is horrible. I will do some testing however, thanks.
