Clare_CA wrote: Hi Jeff, thanks for the information about your propagation method. That sounds like a terrific way to root them. I'm trying a new way now since my other ways have failed miserably. Even when I was able to get a cutting to develop roots, the cutting would die after I transplanted it. I think that winter is a difficult time to do this and that I would be having more success if the weather was warmer. My new way is I have them sitting in a jar of water with a large plastic ziplock bag sealed over the tops of them, and the whole thing is sitting in a tub of water outside in the shade on my back patio. I've left them like that for a week now, and so far they look pretty good. It looks very humid inside that bag. I'm in Zone 10 so it has gotten down into the 40's at night but lately it has been in the 50's at night and in the 70's during the day. I will definitely let you know if I can get some extra cuttings to root. I think it will be much easier when summer comes around. Gardening is truly excellent therapy. Heal fast and well. |
