Margaret, keep practicing in the kayak. Maybe your river was moving a little more than our lake was when I took my pictures. I just plain love the sound of the water when we're out there. Your Kookaburra is one of my favorite birds-honest! I love all the different colors and the look on their face reminds me of my juvie jays-so innocent.

Lily, your heron is pretty. Do they leave much mess on your dock? They sure do here on the roofs of boats and docks.

I think this is a juvenile Coot. Found it and some adorable smaller ones on the lake the other day. Unfortunately my photos of the babies didn't turn out very good. Oh well, that just gives me reason to look for more.
