Rita, I have stripped almost all my brugs and morning glorys save a few tip leaves so far. I then wash the remaining stalk, tip, nubs, and rootball in a WARM ( almost tepid) Spray of a couple drops of soap, a little milk, a tablepoon of bayer 3 in 1 and then empty the bottom of the water bottle to into the soil. I keep the leaves I plucked full of mites in a paper bag, stuff it into a plastic sack and close and put into the trash. Then I go in a wash my hands and face and neck, and spray myclothes with Watsons bug spray. LOL I know, I am weird. In the fall, I use this ame solution in the sink, and then rinse under the tap with clean hot water. It seems to kill what ever is inside of the system. Hot soapy water in the soil mite help. MJs, I got a piece RG and I can't remember if it was rooted or not, but if you got a cutting, I would put it into a large community tub with potting mix that will retain moisture a bit,, and stuff the cutting two thirds into the soil line. All the vines I do like this end up rooting, and I do this with roses and salvias and coleus. I am going to try that method inside this winter, but I am using some kind of clear top to keep over them to see what that will do.Lady M will give me a nice red bloom tommorrow. I can't wait! |
