Dave ~ I would think that you might keep your daturas in the GH this winter and maybe bring them in the house when it gets really cold. I had mine in the ground and they all died...I was very disappointed as they were not cheap. I never saw their flowers, at least they could have bloomed. Should I ever get tempted again, that will be the course I pursue.
Do you sell or plant all of those when you do 50 cuttings of everything? You must have a nice full garden. I am just learning to do cuttings. Is this a good time to do them? Probably since I need to trim all the shrubs...spirea, barberry and boxwood in particular. I read that you just did 'Goldflame'..I have that as well as 'Lime Mound' and S. douglassii, a CA native.

Lee ~ Is your smoke tree the species or the purple one? They now have a 'Golden Spirit', and I did get one, but I don't see it, so either the winter or the gophers got it as it was quite small.

Iris ~ I am going to try wintersowing the delphiniums this year. If you don't want to do that I think you need to stratify the seeds.

jnette ~ I don't want petunias that are blooming with such small roots as they will never achieve their potential...I never thought of it before until I read many of the posts in the annual forum by joannabannana. She seems to be quite the expert and I have taken her advice quite a bit as I never grew petunias before this year. Not from seed, but I bought them every year from nurseries. Hers are really spectacular. She ought to write a book.

Worms ~ I know what you mean...I think that I carry on too much as my posts seem to be quite long as of late...Oh, Sharon, do you raise worms and sell them? Or do you just know how to garden well as in mulching to encourage them? I would like your thoughts on the subject since that is your screen name.

I like to see everyone's pictures...jnette, I am waiting...trying to be patient and not nagging...LOL!

This is my youngest granddaughter and me...a couple of years ago....
