I really do love petunias. I can hardly wait until they all bloom. Maybe I will (try and..) take a page out of joannabannana's playbook and just put one in each color bowl instead of squishing them all in as i had done in the past. It really take a lot of patience to grow petunias...they are SO tiny and take SO long to grow....I wasn't sure if they would be up to size by summer but just since I transferred them to gallon cans they perked right up and took on growth as well as starting to bloom. Well actually I just would put 6 as in a six-pack into a color bowl...they did well, but I am aiming higher now... Dawn ~ My mulch of choice is organic compost. If I put in bark nuggets it is nearly impossible to get the pine needles out, but still I will put some in the bed near the road as it gets the least amount of water, I put them over the organic compost, just to keep it looking nice. Also I don't like to weed that bed twice in a season, just once. This is a typical planting near the road and the driveway...I do not have a recent one, I just noticed... |
