That is exactly it. Mine is dark purple. Is yours actually that blue. I dig mine up every late summer and split and give away to control it in the bed with the Day Lilies, Irises and Hardy hibiscus. I have one very hot spot next to the house by the pool that I cannot get much to grow. I think I will try some there. Mine is on its second bloom and looking a little haggard because of the 106 heat. My Sumac is dropping leaves so fast, it looks like it is snowing leaves. I have two very large Sumac's that shade the majority of the back house and are probably 40 feet tall but when they dump their leaves this time of year my patio is a disaster. It used to drive me crazy but now I just go with the flow. Must be something about not fighting Mother Nature.

If that plant is really that Blue, I would love a few starts. I could send you some Australian Violas. Photo attached.
