They have an area of about 30 square feet there, and absolutely no maintenance since weeds can't survive in their midst. They spread slowly and look wonderful in a large stand, so if you have the space, they are magnificent! I just picked up the fountain at a year end sale at one of the local nurseries (60% off) - so I just basically placed it and plugged it in -- love it.
