Anyway, yesterday I noticed that the suckers growing from the ground around the shrub (maybe possibly some are from seeds or runners) have very pale leaves ranging to almost white. Some of these have normal green leaves on the lower part, some have pale leaves for the whole plant. The majority have normal colored leaves. The ones with the paler leaves look otherwise totally normal, not deformed in any way, not smaller than the others except by normal variation. What is causing this? If it was a mineral deficiency, how come the neighboring plants don't have the same problem? No insects were seen. |
