I guess if your eyes are designed to compensate for the glare on water, they will also work against the reflection on windows. The birds in my yard must never have seen a heron before because they were dive bombing it like it was a hawk. Heron didn't care a bit, but if I made the slightest move on the other side of the window, he'd run or fly toward the back of the yard.
