When I went down the road yesterday to dig them, my neighbor two doors down had just had a 2 alarm fire. Between the firetrucks and watertrucks and volunteer vehicles, the road was completely blocked. Guess you can tell we live in the country and don't have a hydrant on every corner. Anyway I came back home and hubby & I walked down to my neighbor's to see what was going on. My heart was pounding thinking one of our neighbors' houses was on fire! Turns out the underbrush in my neighbor's wooded field was on fire, but it could have been so much worse since there are four homes fairly close to each other. My neighbor has been trying to clear that field for his daughter's new house and with the high winds we had yesterday, what started as a small brush fire got out of hand so quickly.
