Yesterday, when it was spring I planted out some veggies. Since most of the weather has been cool, I put out broccoli, potatoes, beets, and the day before I sowed peas and carrots. The tomatoes are in the basement, waiting for settled weather, as today I went to HD, and they had loads of "Proven Winners" on bedding plant carts, ready to be picked up by vendors, as they never seem to know about unsettled weather and ship out tender plants right from the greenhouse. They used to do that to me when I worked for a large nursery in SoCal, as well as here when I had my own small nursery. I am still waiting on the late tulips. The daffs are all bent over from the snows and now heavy rain and wind. I noticed that there was that beautiful maroon anemone, in the "Dark Side Garden" I planted in fall, though I have not had a chance to take a picture of it yet. I just saw it yesterday. |
