Beginner Gardening: Foundation Planting Suggestions Needed, 1 by djjohnny00

Hi, I recently bought a house and the plantings in front were horrible, so I am ripping them all out. I have no experience whatsover with plantings and could greatly use some suggestions to get me started.

My house is light grey with light blue shutters (which we want to repaint a different color). I am in Zone 5 and this would be on the North side of the house which gets basically no sun whatsoever.

I have no idea what to even look for, so I appreciate any suggestions that could be given.

Also, I am planning on redoing the walkway with pavers so I can get as much room between it and the house as needed.
