We came home one year to find parts of the garden crawling. It's a slow process. They leave a scent to tell other they found a home, so more come to enjoy the party. LOL One of the controls is spraying your window sills and siding with a deterrent and in worst case a pesticide too. They recommend dipping all outdoor trays and pots to kill them and descent them, and drenching any plants being brought back in for the winter. Breaking the cycle is difficult in that even though they only reproduce once a year there is no specific hatch, they just pop out whenever. There are some plant based pesticides effective on them. Since we are traveling less this year we can declare DEATH TO THE STINK BUGS! Ric |
