Last year on March 28th we had a heavy winter snow.. by march 31st it was 67 degrees.. it stayed mild and spring like until the week of April 12th, which I took off work to plant things from the inside to the outside.. it remained in the 40s' all that week.. I hope it doesn't do that again this year, but they say we are getting snow this Saturday.
In the water bottle, if you hang them with the spout and lid down, cut the bottom off and fill almost to the top with potting mix, you can just insert the open end in the spring to where you want things to grow without disturbing the roots.. take the cap off before you sink into the ground. I did that with all my water bottle planters last year, including a few brugs, which were really easy to up root with those bottles around their bases.. morning glories, tomatoes, peppers, brugs, were a snap to plant. Those bottles are easy to cut away as well. also, you can cut them in half, put a seed plug in, top back on ( you might have to snip some strips to get it to fit back over, hang and let germinate and then take plugs out and plant. so easy!
