Venu209. Here is a Iris histrioides Katherine Hodgkin. Which is, as I understand it, actual a Iris hybrid of Iris winogradowii and Iris histrioides. Some people that see it hate it. Not me.

irisMa, I planted more Iris reticulata Natascha last fall in a much better spot, more summer sun and drier, as the old patch that I planted in 2006 had dwindled, rather than multiplied. We only had 2 last year from the 12, but Van Engelen was selling them at a good price last fall ( 50 for $17.25) so I am giving them another go. Fingers crossed.

Wha, the rock wall was a mess, and the garden had grown past it, so it looked dumb where it was located. But the biggest reason is that the cost to import rocks to the Island is prohibitively expensive these days. We brought a whole truck over in 1982 when we were building our house which gave us the leftovers to use for paths and walls over the years. They were mostly the rejects, but fine for the less than professional paths that DH and I have laid and relaid over the years. We have no more left except 5 nice stones that I found in Feb under an old dead pine that I was hauling off to burn. Patti
