However, RS decided that he really needed to be with "his own kind" so one day he flew over the fence. I decided to wait and see how it went. Well, he got into a tiff withour Speckled Sussex rooster and actually seemed to come out on top. But he did get a minor injury on his head and so when my husband went out to close up the coop, he noticed that the hens were picking at his head because he lost a few feathers and there was a little blood. So I brought out the Blue Kote and sprayed just the area that needed it. This stopped the picking immediately (no more red to be seen).

So here's Rock Star with his partially dyed "do". Just the base of his crest feathers are purple, but the ends are the normal color. It doesn't show up in the photo as well as in real life unfortunately, but you get the idea.
