They limp through the summer (even under the shade cloth) and give some good fruits, but really explode in the fall. I think it was Christmas time when I pulled my plants from last year. Had they been impressive varieties I would have kept them through the winter as peppers are perennial here, but wanted to make way for some new varieties.

We use a 40% Aluminet shade cloth. Here's a couple of pics when we first put the cloth up last year...
