Elphaba wrote: Margaret, lovely start. I can't even imagine having archives like yours. I put some of my favorites in an album. There were something like 60. You, no doubt, have hundreds. Nanny, I just love wrens. Those are gorgeous shots. LaLambchop, if you've only been there a short time, 33 is great, I think. During the bird count, I only had at most 15 different species a day. I went to a park that's full of birds and only saw 26. I am quite proud that I've seen more than 80 species in my backyard which is only 6 miles from downtown Houston. It's all relative, but I think 33 is quite promising. Duc, super cool turkey shots! Hack, great photos. Love that pine warbler. Lily_love, I haven't seen a house finch in a long time. I miss them so much. Linth, I know what you mean about having just the usual birds, but really they aren't that usual and your pictures are stunning. Pelle, I can't wait to see your migration thread. I noticed on the Texas count that some migrating birds are already here. I'm also thinking that I need to visit Tivoli, TX. Last time I looked it was the town with the greatest variety of birds in the GBBC count, and there is the coolest burrowing owl pic from Tivoli on the GBBC photo gallery. While I was typing this Rose started posting the most gorgeous pictures. I hate going after Rose! I get to brag now too. Gary started it! My pics aren't as good as his, but this afternoon two of my pics were added to the GBBC gallery, one of a Loggerhead Shrike and the other this Pine Warbler shot. I'm pretty excited to be included. |
