A friend from Montreal is currently visiting with us. He leaves on Tuesday and I'll be sorry to see him go. He has received many prizes from the Montreal Botanical Garden for his involvement in community garden plots, beautification projects, his own home's landscaping, done on the roof of his 2-car garage, etc. He is very talented and digging his little heart out around my house, opening no beds, dividing, planting, mulching, etc.

For Valentine's day, I bought Gail 2 dozens yellow roses. Yes, I know it's a bit hackneyed but what can I say. That's what she likes. Had it been only me, I would have put them in a vase with water but he decreed I couldn't just hand them to her like that. HeI put together this floral installation from stuff he found all over my garden. Gail was very happy. That's a good thing, indeed. Here's a picture of the finished product.
