After reading lots of the threads on this forum I now have a big bad case of "container mania". So yesterday I decided to check out a few of the local haggle shops and antique stores that are all in a row downtown. I only made it through 2 before I almost dropped from exhaustion and sensory overload lol. These places are amazing - they used to be big stores that sold out and moved away and are now occupied by these haggle shops. They are almost like magic expanding universes! They go on forever and have lots of odd twists and turns. I had never visited any of these before and was enchanted.

Anyway, I did come home with 3 different containers. Most of the stuff in these stores was not cheap - these people know their antiques and I was looking for junque (hoity toity junk lol). But I did find this big wooden box (27" long, 15" wide and 13" deep) that I thought I could put a couple of clematis or hosta or something in. It has a stamp on the side that says Standard Railway Container. My question is, would you treat the inside with something or line it with something? I am figuring it won't last very long but it was so cheap I decided to get it.

The ceramic container is new and not an antique but I have been searching for something to try growing lotus in (thanks to one of these threads :-) and I thought this would be perfect. It was also not very either compared to all the old stoneware. And last but not least was the bark pocket which I thought would be great with sedum in it.
