Hi Don!

The strangest thing is happening to that L.M. cutting that I told you about. It has turned completely black, but when I reached in to pull it out of the water, I noticed that the very bottom quarter of an inch of the cutting is green. There are small roots still at the bottom and a green leaf emerging from that bottom node. The rest of the cutting is completely black and dried up. I guess I'll leave it in the water and see what happens. I took a new L.M. cutting and put it in a jar water with a clear soda bottle over the jar. I also took a cutting of a Passiflora that I have no idea what it is because it hasn't flowered yet, but there are buds on the vine outside so we'll soon find out.

That's good to know about the inch long rule, Don. These roots were probably less than a half an inch. I'm sorry you lost one of your babies. Will you be trying that method again? Your P. Alata Ruby Glow is doing wonderfully in a jar of water with a ziplock plastic bag over the top. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that one because you definitely need that one too. It is flowering outside right now, and the fragrance is wonderful.
