We grow lots of L. Rocket as well as several clumps of Britt Marie Crawford both of which we have had for many, many years in several partly shady spots. We have no really deep shade. They are easy to divide and grow, except they do wilt in hot weather and are always thirsty, especially The Rocket. I have moved them several times, no problem. I have ordered one called Ligularia Osiris Café Noir from Garden Crossing this year, and I planted one called L. Osiris Fantasie which I picked up at Bay State Perennials last year, as well as one called Gregynog Gold from Big Dipper, but I can't report on them yet. Hope they all return! I also have one called Ligularia przewalskii which I must say I can't remember seeing it in bloom last year. Duh, me bad or it didn't make it. Here is a big picture taken of the endless spring bed on 05/26/09 which includes L. Britt Marie Crawford in the foreground. Love the dark shiny leaves. Patti |
