Wanted you to know that I put my pond in the shade, under a large awning. So the only water that gets in there is run off from the roof and the only sun is first thing in the morning. In comparison to mine, you get plenty of sun. The sun will help the flowering pond plants to flower, and shortage of sun helps to keep the algae from going crazy. Here's a pic of mine which shows a lot of the plants. mine is up against the house with a small dirt area behind it. I just recently planted those succulents back there.
