Terry, if you've seen Cook Inlet in February, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It is disquieting to look at... so desolate. The flats of Cook Inlet can be quite dangerous, as well. In some areas, if you try to walk the coast when the tide is out, the silty muck sucks you in and holds you down. We've had incidents in which people have drowned because they couldn't be extricated before the tide returned.

Fairbanks is really cold in the winter.. so cold, I've heard, that the tire rims on automobiles can shrink and earrings can cause frostbite. You just have to learn to live a different way, I suppose.

Lovely pictures kooger! We get the same effect here when we have rain followed by a hard freeze. Hoarfrost on the windows always reminds me of stained glass. So glad you got the hang of posting photos. It sure make threads more fun! Here's our log house on a snowy day a couple years ago in February.
