I was inserting my 1.4x converter when I looked up and that hawk, the one I've been trying to photograph, was sitting on a limb, not 20 feet away. By the time I got my 40D back together it had flown away. I couldn't believe it! I think I could hear it laughing as it flew away!

Anyway, the birds didn't skedaddle, here's a female Cardinal.
