Have had nice sunny afternoons for past 3 or 4 days. There is a very shy pair of chickadees staying pretty much in my yard. For 10 years I had a pair of chickadees, raised their family, and I so enjoyed them. A Sharp Shinned hawk, either scared them away or caught them. No chickadees for several years, now at last another pair. There are just too many house sparrows and chase most of the other small birds away from feeder. I am trying to starve the sparrows away. Only putting out what Chicken Scratch in one small area , that I think the quail will eat so none is left for sparrows. Have two feeders for goldfinches, one is the upside down feeder and the other is a net feeder. Here is a picture of the net feeder and 10 goldfinches. Donna |
