Here is a photo taken a few years ago of our outside Xmas tree made from branches pruned from our yard for our front porch. I just treated it like a giant flower arrangement and kept sticking the branches in an empty big pot until it seemed right. It held up fine for weeks with no water. We even had a few bird visitors.
