If I did get a dog it would be one that doesn't drool...yuck! I grew up with a Dachshund, Schnapsie and loved her dearly. When I was very young, we had a Shepherd named Baron. I do love the 'security' of a dog. I currently have two strickly indoor cats. They are both very affectionate and are at the door waiting for me to come home. Precious is definitely the lap cat. As soon as I am sitting, she is on my lap. Rumor thinks he is a dog. I can play fetch with him for hours! Their favorite toy is a piece of paper rolled into a ball. How convenient is that? They both sleep with me all night, at least I think it's all night...They also like to hog the bed. Rumor still sucks his 'thumb' when he sleeps. Precious likes to knead. I could do without the litter box, but it beats having to walk a dog in inclement weather. I don't have to rush home to feed the cats, where a dog would not be too thrilled at that aspect. Dogs are more easily trained. Either breed requires some 'baby-proofing'. Both breeds enjoy being loved by their human! |
