I love photographing the woodpeckers but I'm always just a little too far away from them. My husband got me a large tree branch and drilled holes in it. We put it out on the deck (2 floors up) and I filled the holes with peanut butter and nuts but it's been three days and still no birds. It's only about 15 ft. from our nut feeder box but I'm wondering if maybe it's too close to the house? Also, all the curtains are closed on the windows so they can't see us.

I've also put a seed feeder close to it and this morning I even put chopped nuts up on the top of the branch. Maybe I need to put a sign up on top!

Think the next thing to do would put a nail on top with a corn cob. We'll see what happens. Anyone have a better idea?
