Those just need to be bolted in place so they don't knock them over. Hanging them from the ceiling helps - especially for the tasty plants, of which, I have very few left. I also grow their own oat grass. The male cat could mow my lawn considering how much grass he eats. The female lies down and rolls around in the catnip, so I keep buying a new one of that for her. It helps keep them distracted from the others. They don't bother with cacti and succulents. They try to use my yucca "tree" as a scratching post. Had to move it. It's at a bad angle for them now. Kevin, I tried building shelves like you have - 'cause I love 'em! Too bad, though. My windows are vinyl so the brackets have to go into the wall. The southern most, brightest window is a double and has too wide a span to put a shelf without center supports. I'm 'boo-hoo-ing' over it! : ( Yours sure is pretty! I can only have a shelf like that in the bathroom and kitchen: see photo. I have such tiny windows! : ( super sad. |
