For our first Christmas we ordered decoration from what was called then the Sears&Roebuck catalog, a huge heavy book.
At that time they offered German glass decoration that were left over from before the war and would not be sold during. We bought lots of them many of them were birds, some had tails with silk feathers. All were used through the years but after my husband died I gave all of them to my daughters and grandson, I know they will treasure them.
