Have something that you can open up on warm days, etc. You can get double walled lexan or build walls and windows. You could even do a temporary 6mm plastic that you take down for the warmer seasons. The cordyline is maybe getting more sun than it needs, but I know they can take high light and it is providing shade for some other plants. I still love how it looks, so as long as the plant puts up with it....
