I might get down there sometime this winter, maybe February. I'll be lurking around the eastern shore here in Maryland when I'm not photographing the Bald Eagles. I spent Saturday and Sunday at the Conowingo Dam because the weather was so great. More eagles are arriving each day. On Sunday, someone said that they counted over 200, using their binoculars. In 12 hours, I took so many pics it was ridiculous. It would be embarrassing to tell you how many. I started shooting at 700mm and eventually backed down to 500mm because I was missing too many "fishing" shots. Having a big lens is nice but when it's on a tripod you also miss everything that flies right over your head. There's a lot of photographers there that just handhold their camera/lens. I'll eventually post some of them on my Bald Eagle thread. I'll start a new "On the Waterfront" thread when activity warrants it. I enjoy taking photos of gulls, also. They are a great subject to practice on since you usually find them everywhere. While in the Ocean City, MD inlet, I took a few photos of Laughing Gulls against the blue sky. Here's a few to sort of close out this thread ....... |
