In terms of asters, I have this glorious white aster that blooms in great sweeping sprays of tiny white flowers. I don't know where I got it or what it is called, but if you are interested I can bring you cuttings. They would likely root very quickly. I also have some big football mums that are a great fall flower. http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/MXFS.html. I have Quarterback, Homecoming, and Coral Cavalier, but I mix them all together so I don't know what is what. The cuttings root in about 2 weeks if you are interested.
