Flat- Coats are fairly rare. They are primarily gun dogs; pheasant and good water dogs. I wanted one for their easy-going laid back tempament and the fact that they are lovers of all things, people, dogs, cats. They can't be left in a kennel outside all day but want to be with their people. Smart dogs with field trial, tracking skills, and good theraphy dogs. My last dog was an unpapered Flat- Coat and I could think of having anything else. Unlike regular Labs she will have a plumy tail, feathers on all four legs and a bit of feathering on the ears. Shiny soft smooth coats, too
