I have some redbuds, too, and they've been producing a lot of seedlings lately. I plan to do another RU this July, and if anyone wants a RB seedling I will certainly pot one up for you. Like Bill said, they grow quick. They provide pretty heavy shade, too, so keep that in mind for when it's mature. One of mine has to be at least 20' high and wide. I don't know how many years it took to reach that height. I I just looked through my old pictures of it from 2003, the year after I first moved here, and I don't think it's gained any height since then. It looks about the same, so I guess it won't get any bigger. It sure makes a dense canopy of shade.

Well, I've been working on redoing an old bed that I first did in 2003. Finally I am just about finished. It's one of my daylily beds. I've been moving the daylilies according to size, dividing and transplanting and improving the soil with compost. I didn't take a before picture right before I started. I got a good part of this bed done last week, the part you see on the right of the picture. Took me 2 days to complete that section. Then today I nearly completed the left side. The first picture is from today, before beginning work in the left side. Boy, am I sore!
