Last year I was taking pictures of my Salvia 'Golden Delicious' blooming in September but it JUST finally started blooming last week! After last night's freeze, I don't think they're going to worthy of pictures this year :( I've been too busy to take any pictures of the gardens the past month but did take a few of the Salvias I saw at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria when we were there a few weeks back. It's been awhile since I've planted any Salvias other than 'Golden Delicious' in the gardens but after seeing these you can bet I'll be looking for some to plant next year! This one is at the top of my list: Salvia 'Limelight'. It wasn't even in "bloom" but the contrast of the bright lime green of the spent flowers were beautiful regardless! |
