All germinated fine in about 5 days. And the vines seem to be very healthy. I got seeds from the past vine cultivars, too. But my new Sazanami vine seems to be a low-pollen producer, so it's cross time for that one! :-) If y'all remember, I managed to get a seed of Fuji no Monet that grew and bloomed true. I planted a couple seeds for my son and his wife in one of their pots. He sent me photos today of his blooms. Apparently as Karen2005 stated perviously, it DOES produce vines that have solid white as well as pink with white ray blooms. Here is a photo of his two vines and the blooms from them. Does anyone know if the seeds from these F1 vines could still produce the purple and white rayed Fuji no Monet? I am also growing two F1 seeds, but the vines are still very young and no blooms yet. So ... anyone who I share seeds with of my past winter vine, may or may not get a true bloom from their vine. Just giving y'all the heads up! :-) |
