SingingWolf wrote: Probably a bit of both Marie, baby time is precious. I wouldn't waste it talking to adults (now), I'd cuddle and coo, and like Randy said, probably make a fool of myself in front of a whole bunch of people. I loved my kids when they were babies, but quite frankly, I was exhausted and most of my youngest son's infancy is a blur. Of course he was a preemie and I had to get up every two hours and medicate or feed the little guy. Then I had his brother who was already starting to walk in his 6th month (very precocious child), and by the time his YB came along was sneaking out the window and wandering around the farm on his own. (They are only 9 months apart in age and my youngest was a month early.) Then I was really happy to see an adult. I can only imagine what pioneer moms went through. DH was gone all week working, and I was all alone except for the two kids. The county was worried I couldn't handle it, so they sent me an angel. She was a nurse who was working for the county tracking YS's development. I actually asked her if it was okay to put locks on the windows to keep the ES in the house instead of wandering all over. She said under the circumstances it was a reasonable precaution. I sure didn't get much rest. No wonder I still wander around myself sleep deprived. Now my sons are in their teens and the eldest just turned 20. When they go out to see friends, and are late, unless they call, I worry. Thank goodness my youngest calls. My eldest doesn't come out of his cave much so I don't worry about him wandering the farm after dark anymore. I do worry because he isolates himself. Hopefully, it's just a stage he is going through. Kids, Ya got to love 'em! Sending a photo of what kids can do for/to you! Here's my preemie, and he's got my bananas! LOL! WIB! SW |
