Some of the local Osprey have already departed. The females usually leave first. The male hangs around to make sure that the offspring are able to fish for themselves. Once certain that the young can take care of themselves, he will depart also.

Although we have lots of Osprey around during the summer, I only photographed them on occasion concentrating mostly on the other birds. In another two months, I will hopefully spend quite a bit of time photographing the Bald Eagles.
