It is such a crisp, clean recording, I wonder if it wasn't recorded at a later date, say in the 50's. I know she died young at 53.

I have a copy of Murder at the Vanities (1934), the movie in which she performs the song, but it is much different where she performs with a gaggle of tijuana guitar players all around her.

I haven't had much luck finding out info on her.
