Sally, I don't think Gita's DL is the fulva. I've seen lt in lots of different photos, but haven't ever noticed one with a red eye. I have dug and handled those and there is no mistaking their growth pattern for that of a cultivated lily. The roots are completely different. They are Rhizomatous (sp?) and send shoots everywhere. Within 2 years they will spread about 6 to 8 feet. I inspect all Orange DLs very carefully before planting. This Hosta, Burchwood Parky's Gold was about 12" across last year. It had been in the same spot for 3 years and wasn't really growing. Last fall I dug it up and moved it 3' closer to the front of the bed. It is now 4' across. I sure hope it doesn't get much bigger. |
