While weeding a bed with a rock border, I pulled out a clump of grass between the rocks and look who was watching me! I went on working and he just kept on watching. I found a little shiny beetle about 1/3 of an inch long and shoved it at my little observer. He immediately grabbed it with his tongue, much to my delight. I found another one and we went through the process once again. No more beetles were around, unfortunately, but I had company all the while I finished with that bed.
